Adobe will charge you more for Creative Cloud in June, because AI (of course)
Existing All Apps subscribers will be moved to Creative Cloud Pro, a new $70/month plan that includes far more generative AI credits.
I suspected this was coming sooner rather than later. In addition to the new “Pro” suite, it looks like there will be a $55 per month “Standard Creative Cloud” suite that doesn’t have unlimited generative AI features but still gives users 15 credits. I don’t know how far 15 credits will go, but I suspect it’s just enough for someone to test.
I need to get serious about learning and refreshing my acquaintance with the Affinity Apps. Now that I’m mostly retired, I see little reason to continue paying for something I don’t really need. If something comes up where I need the Adobe apps for a project, I can always buy a month-long subscription as needed.
This is slightly fake news.
There’s more if you want ai
I’ll dig more into it and post an update.
Thankfully I have a completely offline workstation at home.
This is the way…
I think if you want the Ai stuff that’s the Pro
If you don’t the same applies for the Standard accounts.
I’ll gather more info.
From what I gather a few posts went up on Reddit and caused hysteria with misleading headlines and falsehoods in the articles - which I think have been corrected now.
Fake news spreads fast.
25 credits is 25 whacks at getting ai to get your image right. Or using generative fill in photoshop.
Won’t get you quite one second of text to video.
It isn’t fake news:

Sorry, what Reddit had was kinda fake news. Apologies for confusing the two, I mixed up two reports, my bad.
—minus the Reddit panic
Yes, Adobe is restructuring the Creative Cloud All Apps plan. What they’re doing is introducing two tiers:
Creative Cloud Standard – $55/month, includes 15 generative credits
Creative Cloud Pro – $70/month, includes “enhanced” Firefly features and more credits
The key thing is that current All Apps users are being automatically moved to the Pro plan, which is more expensive. That’s where a lot of the frustration is coming from. It’s not that the news is fake, it’s just been communicated in a pretty opaque way. You can choose to downgrade to the Standard plan if AI tools aren’t a priority for you, but Adobe isn’t exactly shouting that from the rooftops.
It’s clear they’re trying to recoup investment in their AI tools like Firefly, and fair enough, but the way this has been rolled out feels more like a price hike with a shiny label slapped on it. For people who barely use the generative stuff, it’s a hard sell.
I’ll keep an eye on this and post any updates I find, especially if Adobe changes course or offers more flexibility. But if you’re thinking of sticking to the Standard tier, probably best to make the switch before the June billing cycle kicks in.
Again I’ve got my ear to the ground on this one. I’ll ask around.
Standard vs Pro isn’t just about generative features (Standard comes with 25 credits in the US)
If you use Illustrator on an iPad or the web based Photoshop or Lightroom, Standard is not for you. Among other things…

A new plan, Creative Cloud Standard, will be available, while Creative Cloud All Apps will be rebranded as Creative Cloud Pro, with a $10+ price increase.
Creative Cloud All Apps subscriber in North America, plan will automatically transition to Creative Cloud Pro on June 17, 2025. While the name is changing, current price will stay the same until your next renewal date.
Seems to only affect Creative Cloud All Apps - changing it’s name to Pro and a slight price increase.
I’m so happy that I’m not the one paying for this
#Affinity
Wow, that’s a whole lotta blogwash that puts lipstick on the two links I posted.
Basically, take the $10/mo price increase if you need the web and/or generative stuff.
Or buy the generative credits as needed with the Standard version (if there are no important parts of the software disabled, which doesn’t seem to be clearly spelled out, like how do they keep you from using other AI content?.)
Bear in mind too that the basic Firefly Add-on is $9.99 per month, LOL!
If that puts you out of the design market, oh well.
You can keep as per standard - the only thing changing is the branding from Creative Cloud All Apps to Creative Cloud Pro
There’s a price increase with lots of AI stuff.
Then there’s the Standard - and if you’re using that already you’re not affected.
As you say buy the AI credits as you need them or step up to the new branded PRO.
If you don’t want to pay more for PRO you can downgrade before the next billing cycle.
You can use other AI.
I don’t use it at all for real work. Fun to play with. But I’m not paying to play with it (that’s what she said).
AFAIK the standard model is unaffected largely.
The tweet thing is morninc
AI has dirupted every market - either catch up or your’e left behind - like every other supplier
Yes there’s deep integration in pro and enterprise workflows - what’s wrong with that
- High swtich costs?
There’s no switching costs - there’s a price bump of $10. If you don’t want it you can return to the other package by next billing date.
Thoughts?
It’s not just about the generative crap.
Standard doesn’t include some web apps. If a designer is using an iPad as part of their daily work, they have no option other than Pro if they wish to continue using Illustrator on that iPad.
$10 more per month is two less Starbucks coffees.
Or up your design price.
Shrug
Must admit I’m not in the US - I didn’t know there was a Creative Cloud Standard and Creative Cloud All Apps.
Here I get CC All Apps - a Photography Plan - or purchase indivdiually.
There’s no differentation between CC Standard and All Apps/Pro
So I don’t really know what’s it like.
Count it as a blessing - you won’t be paying for overrated, overpriced, disgusting coffee anymore
Starbucks coffee ugggh.
If you want it you pay for it. If you’re in business you up your prices and pass it on.
If it’s a hobby - then either pay it or don’t pay it and use something else.
If it’s for a local group/community - start a gofundme page…
The US first.
You guys next year.
(And I agree with you on Starbucks. Blech. So I’m saving already. )

Thanks for this, just shared the blog post with the lads at work as a heads up.
