I have a client who has created a logo for a character he will use on t-shirts. He’d like to trademark it, and I’m not sure of the best method to use, has anyone had a good experience using an online service? Thank you for any feedback.
If you’re in the US you can try Legal Zoom. They will do most if not all the legwork for you but I believe it’s around $600 to trademark a logo through them.
You can always do it yourself through the appropriate website operated by the US gov. Just search ‘trademark a logo’ and you should be able to find it. I’m sure there is a lot of paperwork to fill out when it comes to doing something like this, and there is likely still a fee to initiate and keep the trademark.
Be sure your client knows he has to renew that trademark periodically.
