After Effects training

Hi,

I have a learning fund from my work and I’m keen to learn After Effects and Figma.

Can anyone recommend a London based training company that they’ve used please?

Also any online training recommendations?

Hi and I don’t know about training in London, but for the web you can find many tutorials on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALmYrTm6EKQ and there are many places, may be you can look for some training at Adobe. About figma, there are many places but you can find some online courses on Coursera.

Here’s a really good After Effects course (motion graphics):

Hey @Deets, I’m not from London, so can’t recommend anything I’ve experienced in London, but I can recommend online courses I’ve done and courses I’ve had my eye on to do in the future that you could look into.

If you’re looking to learn Figma through self-study, I recommend checking out Dan Scott’s Bring Your Own Laptop courses for After Effects and Figma. I took his essentials and advanced Figma courses through the Skillshare platform and found the courses engaging, easy to follow, and quite thorough.

Another self-study Figma course you can check out is Arash Ahadzadeh’s UI Design & Figma mastery course. I didn’t take this one, but definitely have my eye on it cause it goes more in-depth with mastering UI skills.

If you’re looking to learn After Effects through self-study, you can check out Gareth David’s free After Effects course designed for complete beginners. I didn’t take this course yet, but have my eye on it cause it’s free! (Though, there is a small fee to access the interactive PDF and project folder with materials to follow along with the course.)

If you want to learn After Effects through live classes as part of a motion graphic design course that’ll give you more in-depth skills using After Effects, I recommend checking out Shillington’s motion design course. Although I didn’t take their motion design course, I did take their graphic design course and found the learning environment, teaching process and methods, and overall experience very helpful in building my foundational design skills, so it’s worth checking out the motion course - it’s on my bucket list to do one day too!

If you’d like an option in London for learning After Effects and motion design, you can check out Escape Studios’ motion graphics course - they have options for studying on campus/live online during the day or in the evening online. I don’t know much about the course, but found it when doing a search for someone else looking to learn motion graphics - definitely looks worth checking out if you’re interested in learning motion graphics.

Hope this helps!
