Another Graphic Design alternative to Adobe

Hello

As we were speaking about alternatives about Adobe, then I was watching some videos on YouTube and I found this program that you may find it Interesting. At the moment I just installed on my pc and I will take a look during tomorrow or the weekend. Name of the program Viva Designer, anyone interested to test it can go here : VivaDesigner - desktop, server & web-based publishing program

It seems to be an alternative to InDesign only.

If you want to earn money with it, the pricing seems to be similar to that of InDesign.

However, it has an option for a lifetime licence.

This could be good for hobbyists.

You’d probably need alternatives for other Adobe apps too, like Photoshop or Acrobat Pro – what are your thoughts on alternatives to those?

To be sincere, for a professional point of view (If I need to do some Graphic Design job in a company or to a customer) then I am open to use Adobe or Similar tools. As you said for a hobbyist, then I would use anything that I can take. For me this Viva Designer, looks very professional and I would used as an alternative.

VivaDesigner isn’t a flimsy tool, it has a lot going for it. You can buy it outright (lifetime licence) rather than renting, and there is a free version for testing. It supports Windows, macOS and Linux, imports InDesign files, and handles most of the layout/publishing features people need.

But just to be upfront it’s not a perfect one-for-one with Adobe. If you’re working in a professional setting (clients, printers, colleagues) who expect the usual Adobe file types or very advanced features, you’ll need to double-check compatibility. Some edge-case features or formatting might not survive the import/export flawlessly.

Also, the “lifetime” cost might end up being higher than your €150 guess depending on edition, region, extras, etc.

If it were me in a company job, I’d still keep Adobe or at least have access to it maybe use VivaDesigner for side projects, drafts, or if I needed something cross-platform or on Linux, or to avoid subscription costs. For hobby stuff or smaller freelance work, though, this is very promising.
