Anyone unsettled by the latest ChatGPT update?

So I only just noticed it last night… AI has now reached the point of actually designing image + type layouts, sometimes combined with conceptual thinking. No longer just ‘image generation’

A lot of what I’ve seen looks pretty samey and gimmicky — but I find it hard not to be concerned by how fast things are moving.

I myself have been embracing AI for the most part, often using ChatGPT, sometimes Adobe Firefly, experimented with Midjourney quite a lot in the past… I’ve found them all quite exciting tools to add to my arsenal.

I’ve never really felt like any of it threatened my career, but now Im getting a little worried :grimacing:

How long is it until you just feed a moodboard into an AI and have it spit out 10 variations of entire brand identities, guidelines, WordPress website, marketing campaign + assets?

Will there be any jobs left for us even for those of us willing to adapt?

Can you show us, what you saw?

It’s true. The latest update on gpt model for image generation (dalle-3 is ditched, now it uses Reeve), fixed almost all of the previous model’s problems.
No the text is correct, crisp and clear. Photos do not have this fake plastic feel, the update is astonishing.
Type is correct ( I still doubt it can use different types of fonts correctly).
Anyway I still believe that AI just copycats things witout originality and genuine creativity.
AI has no emotion or critical thinking. It can mimick them to an extend, but non genuinely have them.
In the future the world will flood with AI imagery (AI slop), and it’s the perfect time for creative designers to shine and stand out.
Just my thoughts.

Fonts have licenses.
Anything AI does using fonts is going to be suspect.
And I doubt it’s to the point where it knows how to generate properly constructed letters.
Of do them in vector format.
I feel a whole new level of service charges coming on. (cha ching.)

The doctor my wife works with, he has a dictaphone on his computer, and he records the meeting with the patient. And his AI assistant types up the letter and removes ALL the surplus stuff, personal conversation, and all that - it literally understands the conversation and what to put into the letter, and it’s out of this world technology.

Before he’d dictaphone the whole thing, the admin then have to wade through the recording and type up the letter.

Now, the whole thing is done with AI - from patient/doctor mouth to a letter ready to send.

I think it’s called Heidi.

@Stefanos1984, you didn’t answer Joe’s question. Can you show us examples?

Here’s what I got when I asked ChatGPT to design a trifold brochure.

I can help you get started with the design! Unfortunately, I can’t directly create visual layouts in this environment. However, I can walk you through how to set it up in a design tool like Canva or InDesign, or create a simple template using text elements that you can then build upon.

If you’d like to move forward with a text-based template, I can also provide you with one, or I can guide you step-by-step on how to recreate this layout in a tool you have access to.

Let me know how you’d like to proceed! If you have access to a tool like Canva, I can give you more detailed instructions on how to create each panel.

YouTube is flooded with videos showing what the new update can do.
Just search gpt 4o update.
Tons of videos.
The leap is tremendous compared to the previous version.
You probably don’t write a correct prompt, or gpt doesn’t like you
Honestly if you aswered “but you did it for other users,” it probably do it for you aswell.

I’ve got a grudge against it, too, so you’re probably right. I’ll see what I can find on YouTube.
