I’m mostly liking Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo (purchased both a couple of months ago). The Affinity Publisher beta isn’t looking too bad either. Give them all another year or two for improvements, and they should be viable alternatives to Adobe’s extortion racket.
I haven’t used Publisher (wish they’d given it a different name) for any deadline work yet, but from just playing around with it, it shows serious promise.
I’m just afraid that Adobe will try to buy them out for some ridiculously high figure that can’t be turned down, then slowly kill them off, like they did with Macromedia.
I’ve dabbled, but I’m not in a position to adopt. There are a few things I really like about it, and a few others that constitute significant shortcomings. For more info, check this thread:
