Fill logo content into a banner size

Has anyone heard of filling in all of the art and text of what is in a logo to be the content within an online banner?

Traditionally my understanding is that a logo is an identity, people recognize a business because of a logo whereas a banner is used for advertising your services, products, offerings, special offers etc. with some additional text.

Are you referring to social media banners?

I’m having a hard time imagining a situation where I would choose to make a logo fill in all the space in a social media banner. A banner is mainly used to place a relevant photo or artwork that sets the mood for what follows in the body of the posts below. Sometimes, it’s also used for promotional items, but I wouldn’t typically use it for that since banner sizes and aspect ratios change depending on the platform, the browser, and the device being used.
