Finally did it...jettisoned FontExplorer

Ugh. It took me half a year to get up the courage but I finally deleted Font Explorer from my computer. Migrated over to Typeface and am familiarizing myself with the new interface. It’s a hard goodbye after 10+ years. RIP, old friend.

How do you find typeface? Is it a good alternative?

I’m still familiarizing myself with it – quite the layout change. There are some things I’m finding an improvement and others that I’m still getting used to. The ability to import my classifications was THE reason I chose it as my new management software. I’ll definitely post a review after a few months of using it. But there is thought behind it, and if the developer sticks with making improvements based on user suggestions, I think it could morph into something quite nice.

FontExplorer is the mac version? correct?

FontExplorer was (past tense) a wonderful font organization program offered by Monotype, until they got greedy and decided to make users subscribe to fonts online and discontinued support of the desktop program.
