Gradient-tool in Gimp or in Inkscape: which one !?

good day dear experts,

well i am divin into the technique of Inkscape and GIMP - ( right botn at once): what is easier - to create a color Gradient in the one or the other!?

some friends of mine say that creating and editing color gradients is generally easier in GIMP than in Inkscape.

well is this true!? The buddies tell me that GIMP’s gradient tool is much more straightforward for basic gradient creation and editing, while Inkscape’s approach, though powerful, can be more involved for beginners.

what do you recommend here!?
GIMP or Inkscape!?

love to hear from you

I don’t use either Gimp or Inkscape.
Correct tool for the job.

If I were deciding between a Photoshop gradient or an Illustrator gradient, my parameters are size and color control, not which tool is easier to use.

Because Illustrator has a defined number of steps when creating a gradient, stepping can happen rather than a nice smooth transition, especially at larger print sizes. Often certain color combinations can be bad too ( like white to light blue.)

Photoshop is raster based so the resolution (and a bit of blurred noise) can reduce stepping significantly, but your file size can become unmanageable at large print sizes.

If you are just making pretty pictures to be viewed on the monitor, use the software at hand. Why be fiddling with cross-placing gradients from one software to another.
Think of it as Time = Money.
