Groups or meetups in Los Angeles

Ive been living abroad for the past 11 years. And had my network there but now that Ive moved back to Los Angeles and a lot has changed. I’m looking to find groups or meet ups for designers. I found one AIGA but doesn’t seem they have a lot of events or meetups. Anyone have experience paying for their membership? Will they show more events?

What area of design do you do?

Thanks for the response PrintDriver. My area of design is mostly in branding. But at this moment coming back i’d take anything lol. I’ll check it out the site you recommended thanks!
