I am new to graphic design, i am a computing student looking to expand my technical skill set.
I enjoy gaming and looking to start a comic strip of screen shots from games, that are photo shopped a little for comic effect.

I wanted to get peoples opinion on this idea.

My opinion is that you should consult an IP attorney before moving forward.

Steve’s right. There are copyright issues to consider with those screen captures. Satire provides some latitude for using other people’s work. But you would be getting close to the edge of what’s legal if you intend to publish what you’re proposing.

What they said. While a lot of entities may turn a blind eye to “fan art” up to a point, there is a point where they will notice and C&D you. Hopefully before they sue you.
