Hello! I’m writing a short dissertation, have previously looked at some secondary research, and also made a short survey to conduct primary research about the topic of successful branding (https://forms.gle/PCEc47DW9rbaZy3S9).
There don’t seem to be much online resources that directly use these terms, and the definition of branding itself can be quite varied. Is there a simple explanation, guidance or principles to successful branding out there that branding practitioners can follow to see results?
Entire books exist that attempt to tackle this subject. Successfully reducing good branding to a simple formula that guarantees results seems unlikely.
For something as complex and nuanced as branding, I’d recommend visiting your local library and asking the librarian for guidance. They can direct you to some great resources on branding, marketing, and business success. Here are a few well-regarded books to get you started:
Building a StoryBrand by Donald Miller
How Brands Grow by Byron Sharp
Zag by Marty Neumeie
Start With Why by Simon Simek
The Brand Gap by Marty Neumeier
They aren’t expensive books - if you’re writing a dissertation I’d recommend going to the library or buying these books as starting points - read them cover to cover.
Ensuring that your brand message and visuals are uniform across all platforms helps build trust with your audience. Creating stories that resonate emotionally is crucial, as people remember how a brand makes them feel.
Creating a successful brand is all about building a strong connection with your audience. It’s important to start with a clear understanding of your brand’s values, mission, and what makes it unique. This helps create a solid foundation that guides everything from your messaging to your visual identity.
Consistency plays a big role too—whether it’s your logo, colors, or the way you communicate, keeping things uniform across all platforms helps build trust and recognition. Engaging storytelling can also make a big difference, as it allows people to connect with your brand on a deeper level.
Listening to your audience and adapting based on their feedback is another key aspect. Brands that evolve while staying true to their core values tend to create lasting impressions. What branding strategies have you found to be most effective?
