How do I do this in an Illustrator if only one shape is deformed when using the Direct Selection Tool

Don’t use the Direct Selection tool. Normal-select all parts of the β€œbox top;” the light pink rectangle, the darker pink object, the ellipse, and the symbol. Then, switch to the Free Transform tool and apply the distortion to all of them.
