How do I recreate this effect in Illustrator?

Hey everyone!
I’m trying to create an illustration with this type of style, but I don’t know the easiest way to put a texture like this into it like the one in the tentacles. Any ideas? I’m using Illustrator 2020 Asset 1

Are you talking about the suction cups? Or is there some kind of texture in the red parts that’s too small to see?

I blew it up a bit and notice a woodgrain sort of texture in the tentacles. Is that what you’re referring to? If that’s the case, it’s could be a vector pattern inside a clipping mask that corresponds to the shape of the tentacles. I couldn’t tell from the blurry enlargement, but it could also be a pattern fill. You can Google both to get more information.
