I have started handing more finished work over in Canva so clients can swap out a photo or update a date themselves, but I keep running into the same problem: the file comes back with the logo moved, the spacing changed, or a heading in a completely different font.
What has helped me most is keeping my master file untouched and only sharing a copy. Before I hand that copy over, I lock the logo, the headings and anything that should not move, and I leave just the text and photo spots editable. I also add a short note at the top of the first page saying what can be changed and what should be left alone, because most clients will not guess that on their own.
It is not perfect, but it has cut down the cleanup work a lot. How do you handle this? Do you lock things down, give clients a template with strict placeholders, or just accept that you will need to fix the file when it comes back?
