How to build strong relationships with clients

I’ve realized that communication is key to building strong relationships with clients. When working, I always try to:

  • Understand the requirements clearly: Ask detailed questions from the start to avoid mistakes or endless revisions. Questions like, “What message do you want this product to convey?” are particularly helpful.
  • Provide progress updates: Don’t make your client ask, “How’s the project going?” Send a short email or message to report progress weekly.
  • End professionally: After delivering the project, I usually send a thank-you note along with a suggestion to collaborate again in the future.

:point_right: What about you? Do you have any other effective communication tips? Share them so we can learn from each other!

You do realize you are talking to professionals, right?

That’s always been one of the job’s most difficult parts. Usually, though, it’s been the client’s failure to communicate effectively — partial answers to necessary questions, ignoring requests for information, missing their own deadlines, etc. I don’t have good answers for that since every situation is different.
