I want to create an outer glow only around the yellow circle. I know I can create an outer glow, but how do I clip or mask it? I know how to do this in Illustrator but not Indesign.
There’s outer glow effects, but no idea what you mean by clip/mask them?
Can you show it in Illustrator, and maybe there’s an equivalent in InDesign, maybe there’s not. If you can do it in Illustrator then bring the graphic into indesign by placing it as a .ai file (make sure to save the PDF compatible for viewing in InDesign).
I wouldn’t bother with the glow effects to be honest. It looks fine without it.

Which do you think is stronger? Initially I just wanted the outer glow on the outside only of the stroke…basically where the yellow light circle is now would be masking that area so the sky gradient showed through. But I actually think I might like the yellow circle. What do you think?
Personally i prefer the first one
I suggest organizing the document better because the text is currently not well arranged. The layout needs improvement, check a postcard, a book or newspaper and see how the document, it is well structure.
Yeah, looking at it again, I improved it. Still not sure if I’m keeping the glow or not. It’s not perfect but it’s better.

Hi, this is great one! But if you want to catch the attention of the public, then “learn more” should be on the top too with the title. For example: Learn more : Lights out saves birds then text and after the text (just to make balance) and then the birds (same size) or the birds can be smaller (for example the title with learn more, then the text and finally the birds. This is just a suggestion). You can put Discovery by Nature on the left and then the other text. But to me you did a great job!

To me, it looks like sun rising and not a night time scene, where you want lights to be off.
The first one was better as it showed a light range rather than a dawning morning.
I wouldn’t use glows/effects.

I totally agree with you, it looks as a Sun rising and not as a Moonshine, this should be taken as a consideration, good point!
