Thank you so much. Yeah, I got some tutorials here, but they are using Photoshop. I need an Illustrator tutorial.

See the link I posted

I watched them. They are created using Photoshop. I need Illustrator (vector file required)

You can do the effects in photoshop - then bring back to illustrator and use the Live Trace to make them vector.

There’s an Illustrator plugin called Stipplism that you might look into. I suspect you need to start with vector art, but I’m unsure. Raster to vector conversions typically aren’t that good.

For stuff like this 100% accuracy isn’t necessary, it’s supposed to look rough, so it might even suit it better.

Thank you so much!!!

I’ll be curious about the final .ai file size.

You can look into the halftone generator called….don’t laugh….Rasterbator

It creates vector halftone patterns. Far cleaner than creating them in Photoshop and live tracing. I think the online version does a stipple effect. I’ve only ever used the standalone version cuz we were doing LARGE prints. Like room-sized large.

I used to use Rasterbator, but this site is IMO an improvement.

It also has displacement options, to end up with a rougher vectorized halftone output. You can also set the background to transparent and export as a vector based SVG file

Too late, I laughed.
