How's your weather?

Picture perfect fall weather in the Midwest. Cool nights; warm, sunny days. Starting to get little hints of color popping here and there. When I woke up Sunday morning, my wife was putting pumpkin muffins in the oven (yes, yes, I acknowledge pumpkin anything has become a fall cliche, but they were delicious muffins).

The changing leaves reached their peak in the mountains here last week, and they’re beginning to fall off now (which, I suppose is why the season is called fall). We’ve had snow in the mountains, but it’s alternated between snow, rain, and sunny pleasant weather.

I hope the weather is good this next Saturday. We have an annular eclipse of the sun occurring directly over my hometown, so I’ll be driving down for that.

Here’s the first light snow of the season, as seen from my studio window this morning.

I’m not a fan of winter. I wish I could talk Mrs. Just-B into moving to a place with cooler summers and warmer winters. Oh, well.

Looks like a great view! But, yeah, it’s a little early for snow for my taste, too. We’re enjoying a pretty nice fall in the Midwest — warm days, cool nights, and some color starting to pop. Where would you move if it were up to you?

I’ve thought about this a lot lately.

I like all the public land in the western U.S., and I’d feel lost without green mountains and dry deserts nearby. Four seasons are nice, but I’d like them to be more moderate. I’m not a fan of rainy weather that lasts for days. I greatly prefer small cities, towns, and wide-open spaces to sprawling cities and suburbs. A reasonable cost of living would be nice, too. If the town has a public college and a slightly artsy vibe to it, so much the better.

This pretty much narrows it down to Prescott, Arizona. I have a friend who moved there a couple of months ago. He loves it. Unfortunately, other people are discovering it too, so it’s growing.

Today is warm but cloudy. The best weather for me to work!

We’re supposed to get snow tonight. I’m hoping for more rain instead.

It’s been nearly 80 the past few days. Very strange. We have also had lots of rain. I have no idea what it’s going to do … it’s all upside-down

Now wait. The two of you live, what, 150 or so miles from each other? How could it be snowing in one place and nearly 80°F in the other?

Maybe that explains it.

The weather has been very bizarre up here. And the man corrected me. It was actually last week it was near 80° for a few days. It dropped to around 50° on Sun. and been about that as a high. I just checked the weather and it’s supposed to be in the high 40’s the next couple days … and probably rain … it always says it will probably rain these days
Also … I live in a little pocket that can have “insert whatever” going on and the next town over does not or vice versa. We just call it Upstate weather lol

We call it New England Weather.
We didn’t get snow. Weather is always 50/50.

Err …

I think PD Jinxed it! LOL

It’s snowing around the area and I just saw a few flurries … but it was very short lived … for now

As much as I love fall, the drone of leaf blowers in the neighborhood gets old. The irony in this is that I am one of the contributors to the noise that bugs me.

You need one of these; very quiet, reduce your carbon footprint, get some exercise, and they work on wet leaves too

Oh, I have one of those, too; but relying solely on a rake would be impractical considering the volume of leaves I have to deal with every fall.

First snow in 3 years

I bet that was a bit of a surprise for everyone

It’s gray and rainy here. We have had a couple of little snow days … but it was light and gone by the next day - after turning to rain.

I could tolerate a little snow once every three years — just enough to remind me of how much I detest the stuff. Here in Utah, we’re looking at at least three more months of the stuff piling up.

Winter arrived in the Midwest — with a vengeance. This is our first cold snap, and I am so ready for spring. Here’s hoping your weekend will be warmer than mine.

I’ll be staying indoors this weekend. I hate winter.
