I am making improvements in my Graphic Design

As you know, I am making a lot of improvements in my Graphic Design, and I would like to apologize again to all of you. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding (especially Smurf2 and all of you).

I just made such a mistake trying to learn Blender 3d, and I just forgot to practice Graphic Design (which I am doing now). Still, I have to recognize that I was unaware of such horrible mistakes (I have seen myself looking to my portfolio, I have seen the mess that I made).

Even now I am still working on my portfolio, I keep watching some YouTube channels of Graphic Designers (later, I will change some links here for graphic design beginners, because I think this information may be useful for them), taking notes, and applying all changes on my own portfolio.

I just made a Brutalism Design for all of you (I recognize it may not be perfect, and I accept any feedback that you may have)

Please, please stop learning how to design from YouTube videos. You are just driving yourself further down the wrong road of meaningless decoration and, sadly, not all that decorative, it has to be said, I’m afraid.

Apologies if this sounds harsh, but feint praise is not going to help you here.

You’d be far better off learning what design is than how someone equally unqualified tells you to do it. The only one of your images with any sort of aesthetic merit is the capiscum one, but that is not saying a lot. There are many, many issues with it. However, without context or purpose all of them are pretty pointless really, so I am not even going to begin to make any sort of critique at this point.

Design is about solving real world visual problems and communication. It is not about making pretty stuff. Go back to basics. Read books by the greats. Learn about typography, colour theory, legibility, readability, critical thinking, lateral thinking, psychology, perception. That’s before you even get into layout, visual harmony, grid systems, etc, etc. That is why learning from YouTube, although popular these days, is flawed and a large part of the reason there is so much, ugly, visual noise out there. Find a good college to teach you the basics, then, ideally progress to university.

What do you want to learn for? To become a professional? If so, do it the right way, or you will just end up adding to the visual cacophony already out there.

This is not meant to discourage, but there is little point in learning in the wrong direction.

I wrote a very lengthy process out before explaining how to approach design.

Then I read ‘youtube’ videos.

YouTube is not the way forward. I’ve rarely seen a youtube or video tutorial that are not littered in mistakes and bad advice.
