Is there a Print-Per-Order Magazine/Book printing?

I am just checking to see if there is some new service that can print per order. Something like this:

  1. The customer pays the service.
  2. The printer prints one copy of the PDF.
  3. The printed magazine/book gets mailed to the customer.

Several years ago I couldn’t find such service and I had to print an entire self-made indy magazine… and it was a big hassle to deal with all the magazines in my apartment and then having to distribute and mail many copies.

What you’re talking about is “print on demand” (truncated to POD). Yes, they are out there — quite a few these days. You can find some that are somewhat tailored to indie magazines.
