Japan announces new ¥10,000, ¥5,000 and ¥1,000 bank notes as Reiwa Era looms. It’s the first aesthetic change of the country’s currency notes in 20 years. The new designs will be introduced in the first half of fiscal 2024, Finance Minister Taro Aso said.
