Magnified Toner Dither (Interesting)

Here are some toner dithers I created on a Ricoh 7210SX. It’s remarkable how these microscopic dot patterns effect the image on a much more macromatic scale.

It’s even more remarkable how a digital press can precisely control the position of a billion, tiny dry particles, and move them from a drum, to an image transfer belt, and lastly to paper.

I’m looking at a 5K monitor as I type this, and the computer is somehow juggling the precise color and position of millions of pixels so tiny that I can’t even see them. Like the dot patterns you’re showing, we just take this stuff for granted while largely ignoring that the whole thing is sort of like magic.
