merging one image's structure with another's styl?

hey!

I have this very simple task I want to achieve.

I want to change the style of the first image (the three lines) in the style of the second one - which is to say make clear colored outlines and add a bit of glow to it.

I am a complete newbie in graphic design. I will download Adobe Illustrator’s free trial and start looking at tutorials. I figure it can’t be too hard (am I wrong?)

Would anyone be able to guide me with a few keywords on what tutorials I should search for?

I assume what I need to do is something like this:

  1. Make the first image’s background transparent. Draw in the circles/lines and make them transparent too.
  2. Change the outline - change its width and colors
  3. Add a bit of glow/etc.

Is there any sort of name for this type of minimalistic design I’m trying to target? I’m just wondering how to approach the issue.

To me this seemed like something that AI should be able to do… but Midjourney’s texture changing tool doesn’t give me anything close to what I want.

I would appreciate any advice as to what software I should look into too. My go-to assumption was Illustrator as I mentioned.

I am not 100% tracking with the final results you’re after, but Illustrator’s pen tool, line segment tool, and ellipse tool should get you you there. I believe what you are referring to as a glow would be achieved with Illustrator’s gradient fill.

I agree with the above response just remember when you want to undo the effect you will have to do “ungroup” to delete that effect.
