Merry Christmas Smurf

Merry Christmas Gang! Have a great holiday!!

We have a few family stopping by Christmas Eve and a few on Christmas day. Otherwise it’s on the quiet side. I’m making Turkey with all the fixings … since I didn’t make Thanksgiving dinner  I’ve made my usual candies for Christmas and some have not wanted to cooperate. The damp weather and high heat here in the building are not helping the situation. I’ve already warned the family they may end up with a bag of fudge crumbles for their ice cream

I will be heading to in laws for christmas day. We are in charge of Kris Kindle nibbles that will happen in the morning. Also making christmas cake. These were the tasks. Everyone is doing something different to take burden off one household hosting.

Other than that working up til Christmas day. Then taking a few days. Back before new years then taking 2nd off so that will be a long weekend.

No big plans… yet

Yes, Merry Christmas!

Our kids will be over pretty much all day on Christmas. That evening, we have invited a number of friends that don’t have family in town over for dinner. It’s supposed to be an unseasonably warm 74° F on Christmas day, so we are going to smoke pork tenderloins for dinner. Then we’ll celebrate with extended family on Saturday.

Here’s a Christmas picture I took a few years back.

Merry Christmas! This is my first holiday as a father. I’m excited to how my son reacts to the chaos at the family gathering.

Merry Christmas to you all - I hope it’s not too stressful and that you get some quiet time in all the chaos. The solstice is behind us and we look forward to the coming year. The days are getting longer people.

Mrs. B and I are getting ready to drive to my brother’s and sister-in-law’s house for Christmas Eve. It sounds OK, but all their kids, their kids’ kids, and their kids’, kids’ kids will be there, along with their various husbands, wives, and a possible assortment of complete strangers who have somehow entangled themselves with the family through various means.

I’m told there will be over 40 people packed into one house. Aggghh! My social anxiety and introversion are already kicking into high gear. I also suspect that we’ll catch colds, flu, Covid, leprosy, Zika virus, dengue fever, measles, and elephantiasis while we’re there.

Wish me luck, and have a merry Christmas.

Oooh no … that would do me in. There are 18 of us if everyone can make it. That’s about all I can handle. Usually though there are always a couple or two that can’t come. When it is everyone, sometimes my ears shut down from the noise, noise … NOISE!!! It disorients me. :face_with_spiral_eyes:
