Have you considered a dot-photography domain — dot-coms are so yesterday. 
What? No, didn’t know about them. How widely used are they?
I haven’t seen them used often, but that’s what makes them memorable. They’re a little bit pricey, but not all that bad, and a whole lot cheaper than the new dot-design domains.

Honestly, though, I’d recommend using his actual name for his domain—firstnamelastname-dot-com if available.
I’m guessing you’ve already discussed that with him, but it would definitely be easier for people to find him via search (unless he’s got a super common name).
I agree with you. Especially since both his names are short, start with A, and aren’t super common. I plan to recommend this.
Domain is too long. Name maybe interesting, for it get’s you thinking and you sort of will not forget it so fast.
That is what makes it so intriguing. You never know what’s going to happen. A bit like sports photography, but then on a playing field that is generally undefined in size.
