Need some advice for the frame-by-frame animation

( the file is too heavy to upload here so i uploaded in gg drive instead! )
Hello everyone, this is my first time creating a frame-by-frame animation film on the topic of body image issues. I would greatly appreciate your feedback and advice to help me improve this film. I’ve noticed that I need to adjust the space to make it darker and deeper, and also increase the speed of the film. Additionally, I’m struggling with choosing the right background music and really don’t know what would fit the film. Could you please suggest some suitable background music? Thank you so much!

For a student, this is fantastic work. I certainly couldn’t make this.

As for music, you don’t have to start there because there are some instances in your video that would benefit from just added foley (head on pillow, walking sounds, glass breaking).

Sourcing music is always tricky but I’d suggest going even simpler and something without a lot of percussive elements until the person reaches their dream state. You could always reference classic cartons to see what they were doing in terms of audio.

First off, congrats on this! I love the concept, and the elements you used in the story really make the point clear.

Technically, I agree with what you probably already know—you could increase the film’s speed. One way to do this is by cutting frames in certain parts.

There are moments where you use dynamic speed variations, like when her hair puffs out at 1:04 or when she starts punching the mirrors. I think you could use more of that throughout the whole video, starting from the beginning. It’s not just about reducing the total runtime but making each scene more engaging by tweaking the timing.

For example, at 2:48, you zoom in on her reflection in the mirror. I’d skip the zoom steps and jump from the first frame of the mirror to the last zoomed-in shot, then hold it for a bit. That would add more drama.

Hope that helps!
