Paper cutout illustration

Hey Guys
I am loving the paper cutout effect created digitally and I’m try to improve my skills however I am unable to achieve the effect I want. It would be great to get some helpful tips from the design community.
See below my image (purple) created on Illustrator and the inspiration from Eiko Ojala.
Let me know your thoughts?

Watch your light source and tighten up your drop shadow. It’s fanned out way too much. Notice how the cutouts at the bottom are not complete pieces. Yours look to be completely punched out :wink:

Otherwise it’s a pretty good attempt I’d say :slight_smile:
