Graphic designers are especially vulnerable.
I can’t tell if this study is about people being presented with a scenario, or actually in the situation where they believe they CAN exploit someone simply because they are “passionate.”
This is where boundaries and personal responsibility kick in. If you don’t define boundaries in your work life, and if you don’t take responsibility for your own situation, you get what you get.You have to be a willing participant to the exploitation.
On the other hand, an outside viewer deeming it’s ok for a boss to exploit an employee based on the employee’s passion just shows what is wrong with society.
I’m not buying into that wealth analogy thing. That’s also a matter of personal responsibility. One we are not taught early enough in life, IMO.
