Relink "Missing" photos in Affinity v3

I am having trouble trying to “relink” the “missing” photos in an Affinity v3 file (in Windows 11).

The project file was originally QXP, but has only just been converted to Affinity by using QXP Markz Windows SE

Every photo in this newly converted Affinity file has a question mark instead of the image.

In ‘Resource Manager’ the photos are all listed by their correct individual photo file name and page number. But the status on each photo is “Missing”.

The photo files are all on the same PC in a separate photo folder.

If click on a listed missing photo file name (in Resource Manager), nothing happens when I use ‘Update’ or ‘Relink’. No result.

It seems that the only way I can revive the missing photos is by using ‘Replace’ and finding each photo individually. This seems to work, but it is very time consuming to have to replace the photos one by one. Especially as there are hundreds of photos in this project.

Any suggestions, please?

I don’t use Affinity, but for both Quark and Indesign, when I run into a relink problem like this, I dump all of the images into the same folder where the layout file resides, not in a “Links” or separate folder, and quite often double-clicking the layout file will auto link.

Be sure you aren’t working to a server either. I do this from the desktop. Then repackage everything.
