RIP: The Necrology Thread

There’s one of his buildings in Boston at MIT. Leaks, cracks and falling ice in winter.
Innovative perhaps. Practical, not so much.

Raul Malo passed at 60 from cancer. Probably not a household name, but he was a wonderfully talented singer, songwriter, and musician. He performed with The Mavericks and solo. If you aren’t familiar with Raul, he is worth getting to know.

Actor and filmmaker Rob Reiner (All in the Family, This Is Spinal Tap, The Princess Bride, Stand by Me, Misery, A Few Good Men, When Harry Met Sally and Sleepless in Seattle) and his wife Michele were murdered. They were found with multiple stab wounds at their Los Angeles home on Sunday. There is already rumblings that one of their sons did it. But there is NO proof of that as yet according to police. Rob was 78 and Michele was 68. In case anyone didn’t know. Rob is the son of another legendary actor, writer and comedian, Carl Reiner. Such sad news :frowning:

The Jews who were shot at Bondi . . . not so far from where I live. Innocent adults and children were victims. They were celebrating their Hanukkah. RIP to all.

Yes, the mass shooting at Bondi Beach was horrible. It’s all but impossible to imagine how anyone can deliberately kill innocent people, including a 10-year-old girl. It’s also worth mentioning that there were some real heroes there.

Yes there were - the main being a simple fruit seller. Shows you can be born a hero without a red cape

Brigitte Bardot has died at 91. This beautiful French woman was a major sex symbol in the 60’s and then retired to devote her life to activism. She retired from acting in 70’s. She started the Brigitte Bardot Foundation in 1986 to fight for animal rights. RIP Brigitte

Indeed, I first caught her in “Helen of Troy” (1958, I believe), where she played Helen’s (Rossana Podesta’s) handmaid. The film is also memorable for another scene, where Stanley Baker (Achilles) beats Harry Andrews (Hector) to a pulp (Both Baker and Andrews were my favourite actors).

RIP

This is so sad :slightly_frowning_face: I loved Catherine O’Hara. I started watching her as a kid. I would sneak down stairs to watch SCTV. She was such a great actress and comedian. From Home Alone to Beetlejuice to Schitt’s Creek. Her work in A Mighty Wind and Best in Show was fantastic. She will be missed. She was 71. There is no cause of death at this time. RIP Catherine  Thank you for the laughs :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Aww, that’s too bad. I am a fan of Tim Burton and Christopher Guest, so her work in Bettlejuice and Guest’s mockumentaries are favorites.
