Roast my new landing page

Hey guys,

I need your help. Recently I’ve started a new project - UX job boards for Designers.

After the first month I was pretty happy how it goes but I realised that my job board looks exactly the same like others job boards. I feel that I need USP - something that stand outs from the competitors. Something specifically for designers with aesthetic skills.

That’s why I decided to go more into Mobbin direction, one of my favorite resources for designers and overhaul landing page.

I am keen to hear your thoughts, what you think about new design? It’s already developed by my developer and will land on prod soon.

Here is a current site for a reference: https://www.uxjobs.club/

Any feedback is appreciated!

My experience in UX is severely limited (worked on some slot games a million years ago) but at a glance I think the new look is nice and inviting. I’m sure there will be some better informed than myself who can point out why the original works better in some way, but I like the new one, just feels more visual. A little bit Pinterest-y.

It feels like a step backwards in terms of usefulness. The original looks somewhat professional with most of the information I need at a glance. With the redesign I have to click stuff to view anything

Ah yeah there is that. Fewer clicks are always, ALWAYS better.

Thanks a lot Jim for your feedback. That was my initial idea - to make it similar to websites that majority of designers know (Pinterest, Mobbin)

Get your point, now i have a second thought that I could include more info in the title (salary, job type) or add short summary when user on the web moves the mouse over the offer.

Worth considering.

My opinion is similar to @Obsidian’s. When looking through job boards, I’m more concerned with layout efficiency and quickly identifying posts of interest. Bouncing around to various colored boxes gets in the way and slows me down.

Aesthetics are important, but only in the sense of how it might contribute or detract from the professionalism and trustworthiness of the listings. I don’t visit these kinds of sites for fun, and I’m not looking for a visually interesting layout — especially one that impedes efficiency.

I’d be wary of hiding essential information behind a mouse-over interaction. Especially as that won’t transfer over well for mobile users.

Apparently I have to think about how to add more details to the page and keep simplicity at the same time cause that’s my goal.

Thanks once again to you all for your feedback.
