Smudge painting with photoshop "I'm stuck"

I have been trying to learn this type of designs following many tutorials in YOUTUBE but its always seems like I missed something!

  • how do I get it to be so clean using smudge tool?
  • note that I’m using only mouse not tablet.

To be honest, I think you did a fine job.

If you tone down the reds (not sure where the saturation came from) I think you’d have a very close match to the demonstration piece.
