Yeah email marketing is a bit stuck in the past in terms of web design. Text is slowly moving to code but still a lot of edms are using jpgs especially when the text overlaps images.
Oh really I had version 16.2, now I went back to 16.1 and it’s working well for me.
Prerelease (i.e., beta I presume) InDesign and InCopy 16.2.1 builds are now available to download via the Creative Cloud App, they are in the prerelease section.

Any bugs should be submitted via the Feedback section.
