If you are thinking about a career in graphic design, you need to think long and hard and do your research. I have three kids, and I would not recommend any of them follow my footsteps into this field. The market is pretty well saturated with quality designers that have a formal education and work experience, and the market is ridiculously over-saturated with “designers” trolling contest and crowd sourcing sites for the opportunity to work for a pittance of what working professionals make.
Sorry to burst your bubble; but, if you came here thinking graphic design is the easy path to a successful career, you might be in for a rude awakening.
