i think you should try web designing.

I had no idea what career I wanted to pursue. I worked in a warehouse for a while but got laid off and was unemployed for 5 years (this was the late 70s + early 80s). I joined a group campaigning for the unemployed and got roped in to helping on the newsletter. I loved it from the start. I learned to type using Wordstar. This led to a job in letterpress and from there pretty much everything in the print industry. Name a job I’ve done it. Lately I’ve been working in PrePress and Design.

Every job I’ve had informs my thinking process when it comes to Design. The experience I have as - for instance - Folding Machine Operator has really helped me to understand the printing process and avoid the pitfalls that almost all designers fall into.
