Why do hex codes change after pasting the code?

this happens a lot. I put in #F43FA8 into Illustrator’s Colour Picker and it changes it to #F33FA7.
I’m working in RGB. What am I doing wrong or what do I not understand?

It’s probably related to your color management settings, either for Illustrator specifically or Adobe CC as a whole.

here’s a good resource:

You may need to synchronize color settings for all applications via adobe bridge.

What’s the colour setting if your doc and the colour policies setup.

RGB is 256 colours
Hex are 216 colours.

It’s likely your hex colours is out of gamut and can’t be reproduced in RGB.

Open Illustrator and go to the “Edit” menu.

Choose “Color Settings” from the drop-down menu.

In the Color Settings dialog box, set the “RGB” profile to “sRGB IEC61966-2.1”. This profile is designed to work with web and digital media and is optimized for hex colors.

Under “Working Spaces”, make sure that “RGB” is set to “sRGB IEC61966-2.1”.

Click “OK” to save your changes.

Thank you @Smurf2 Colour Settings dialogue box was already set to sRGB IEC61966-2.1
I had to copy an artboard onto a new artboard and all my colours just changed to whatever they felt like (similar to the original, you have to zoom in like 300% to see the difference)

Can you post settings of your colour setup
