The New York Times just bought Wordle from its creator, Josh Wardle, for a price in the “low seven figures”. That’s not bad for a game that came out of nowhere almost overnight.
The NY Times will eventually put it behind their paywall and, I’m guessing, clamp down on imitators. I’d be surprised if their attorneys aren’t already filing patents, trademarks, and copyrights. Oh well.

I can’t read that because of their paywall, but I’m sure they are seeing dollar signs. It will be time to stop playing soon

Yea, is probably not the best use of our time, but is fun while it lasts and there’s only so many 5 letter words left in my vocabulary

lol me too! There’s certainly a mix of luck and strategy of what word to guess, especially first.

It is my fervent wish that as soon as the NYT’s put’s Wordle behind a paywall, not one person pays for it. But good on the creator!!
