And you charge it how? I’d have to use solar. Or a really really long extension cord. Boat is moored on the water and clear across the lake from the house.
We can only have up to 9HP on our lake and NO Seadoos, which very cool.
Funny story, my old boat came with an electric trolling motor for free. Hooked it up, didn’t work. Took it for repair and the tech said he just poured what used to be the copper windings out of it. Big pile of green crusty bits. Was used on salt water apparently. LOL!
@Steve_O
Haha, I just looked at those boat motors… a 9.9HP = $3450 (not bad) plus another $3000 for the 101 lb lithium battery ( ) That’s not something you carry back and forth like a tackle box.
My boat capacity is 850lbs. Gonna have to throw someone overboard to stow the battery (or tow it behind in a dinghy )
They say lithium is the new “Gold Rush” If I was younger and more motivated I’d go digging LOL … nah, I probably wouldn’t. I’d still be poor
Grr…It’s 10°F outside, which means it’s about 55 in the shop. And someone left my office door open all weekend. It’s cold in here! (I don’t mind much, really. 55 is kind of nice, if you aren’t sitting still at a desk. )
“How’s your weather?” It’s crap. I am so ready for spring.
It’s been a crazy February here, too. Long range forecast looks like a warm March, too.
Well the woodchuck did say “Early Spring.”
Last day of February and it’s rained every day this month - not sure if this is a record, probably not.
Snowed last night. Not a record. April in Toronto is when it brings a little assurance of hope and optimism.
Then we complain about the heat.
Two days ago it was 55°F-73°F, low-high.
Yesterday it was 14°F-45°F, 45-50mph wind gusts with a relative humidity between 12% and 17%. Extreme grass fire danger.
Today it’s slightly warmer, but barely, and not quite a windy. I think they dropped the red flag fire warnings.
Saturday it’s supposed to be 80°F.
I don’t know if it’s the wild temperature swings we’ve had or if spring allergies are coming early, but my sinuses feel like crap.
Each year, about this time — when the hardwood trees begin to blossom — this stuff is a must-have.
We have a big maple tree next to the house. I love that tree, but its barely noticeable blossoms spew out enough pollen to cause me to wake up in the middle of the night unable to breathe.
We have “snow mold” because the ground never really froze this year.
Its a weird line of mold that grows on the ground just next to the receding edges of snow cover.
Sinus killer for sure.
I know the feeling. There are times when I can’t breathe through my nose without Dristan (same active ingredient). I’ve heard you do need to be careful and not be on it too long. Perhaps a somewhat uncouth topic, but I am a fan of neti pots for relieving congestion and fighting sinus infections.
It’s funny. I tend to think it’s just us that read this stuff. But I do wonder how many people are reading this forum that are not the core users. I wouldn’t start talking about my sinuses at a party, but here I am on the interweb blabbing on.
Yeah, a bunch of old friends having a conversation in front of the whole world. It’s a little weird now that you mention it.
If today were March 1st, it certainly would have “Come In Like A Lion”
It’s been horrendous winds for 2 days now and we lost power along with most of Upstate NY last night for several hours. However our neighbors a road over had power … that was frustrating to say the least LOL. It seemed to hit certain pockets on the grid. Fingers crossed we don’t lose it again today. It also dropped to 15° over night and hasn’t gotten above 25° today. We were in the Spring of Deception But, since it’s, I think we have moved on to Third Winter
You forgot a couple seasons:
- Pretty Winter Wonderland
Winter - Hell, Frozen over
Yeah that sure was some crazy wind on Wednesday night!
Even better, it pouring-down rained Wednesday night just before it dropped to 19°F. My car was frozen shut encased in ice! Ya know, it’s really hard for an adult-sized person to get from the hatchback to the driver’s seat (You can’t.) I used the snow brush to hold the brake to start the (hybrid) car. Luckily it didn’t take much for the battery to call on the engine for power and warm up the car (because “heat” in EV mode is just a suggestion, I’ve found.) The windows were still froze shut when I got to Dunkins. Found that out as I drove up to the speaker thingy. Had to open the door, then actually get out at the window. A guy a couple cars back had to do the same thing, LOL!
lol … no way I could crawl over a seat these days I have had to have the door open on occasion at the drive-thru though
Here in Michigan we saw a high of 74 one day, and a high of 29 the next!
Today, March 1st and we’ll see a high of 50 with steadily increasing temps thru the weekend, with a high again of 71 on Monday!
Yikes!
But I love it!!!
