I’d be really interested to hear what people think of my new portfolio website.
Personally, I think it does an ok job of showing off the work I’ve done, but I don’t think the site sells what I offer very well at all. I’m having trouble getting enquiries through.
What do people think of the colour, should I change it to something safer, more palatable?

I like the looks of your site. I’ve always liked yellow and black together when done right. It’s visually aggressive, but I don’t see anything wrong with that.
What’s your reasoning on using a monospaced typeface for your heads? On the one hand, the personality complements the yellow and black treatment. On the other hand, it’s still a peculiar choice for headlines.
The big, above-the-fold hero art (for lack of a better term) doesn’t auto advance. Maybe it should since the initial image (which is largely all that’s seen when your site is first called up) might be a little misleading in that it’s about radio rather than it being obvious that it’s just an example of your work.
By the way, I like the word art in your source code. Also, the projects in your portfolio are all very nice.

Thanks so much for the feedback. I guess I did want it to be “visually aggressive”, I worry it’s probably a bit self-indulgent. Which is also how I’d explain the monospaced headings, I think I like that they are peculiar.
There was no real reasoning behind any of the design, which is unusual for my design process. At least, it is when I’m working on client projects, which are generally concept driven.
