I think every guy our age had a first crush on Mary Ann. I think it had something to do with those short shorts she wore on the after-school Gilligan’s Island reruns.
My first (and only) crush was Rita Tushingham. A Taste Of Honey was her signature.
On TV it would have to be Debbie Watson, who played Karen.
Sad to hear of Gerry Marsden’s passing. He sang a song he didn’t write, which went on to become the anthem of Liverpool FC. He also had a band named the Pacemakers. The song, of course, is You’ll Never Walk Alone.
I could have sworn that I read about Gerry Marsden’s death a year or two ago. I remember even talking to someone about it. Weird. I guess I was wrong. Anyway, Ferry Cross the Mersey has been a favorite song of mine since I was a little kid.
I was a little more than a little kid by that time. When Broken Hearted Melody by Sarah Vaughan first came out I was already a young old man.
Aww How sad. I’ve been a fan of Gerry and the Pacemakers for as long as I can remember. They were a fav of my Mom. She played them frequently. Even though I was very young when Ferry Cross The Mersey as soon as I was old enough to remember things it was an instant fav.
and another absolute fav. It’s timeless
RIP Gerry
Tanya Roberts, former Bond girl and Midge Pinciotti on That '70s Show
Aww … loved her as Mrs. Pinciotti
NOOOOO she was one of my favorite side characters as Midge Pinciotti ): crazy too that she ended up on a ventilator and breathing problems during this time without it being COVID related too.
Ok … now it’s getting weird …
She is apparently … NOT dead. Even though her Rep said she is

RIP Tanya
'‘Tanya Roberts died Monday night at L.A.‘s Cedars-Sinai Hospital following a bizarre turn of events that included her domestic partner incorrectly telling her rep she had died the day before.’’
Good.
Larry King has passed at 87. No cause of death is given, but he was admitted to the hospital on January 2nd with Covid. He had major health issues over the years. He had
a quadruple by-pass and beat lung cancer and most recently had a stroke.
He was quite an interesting fellow … from his 8 wives to his many decades on air. His interviews were always interesting to watch and he won many awards for all his journalistic contributions.
King began his career as a radio interviewer in the 1950s and 1960s. He gained fame when he started the The Larry King Show, an all-night nationwide call-in radio program in 1978. In 1985 he began his 25 year stint with CNN on the nightly show, Larry King Live. After retiring from CNN in 2012, he began hosting Larry King Now on Hulu and ORA.
He never took himself too seriously, but had no trouble handling serious topics.
To my knowledge he is the only person who has ever interviewed Kermit and Miss Piggy It was one of my favorites.
RIP Larry
