There’s nothing like a cold pint of disappointment on a hot day.
I’m not a beer snob. I just don’t like tasteless, light lagers.
The last watery lager I had was a Belgian Stella Artois four or five years ago. I’d never seen it served at a restaurant before, so I decided to give it a try upon the recommendation of the server.
One taste and that was enough — sour, bitter, and watery, all at the same time. The rest stayed in the glass on the table. I subsequently read that you Brits sometimes refer to it as wife-beater beer.
