I miss the Golden Girls
Looks like a scene from Bewitched.
Yep … that’s Mrs. Kravitz (the original)
You either have a better memory than I do or you’re a Bewitched super fan. No way could I have come up with her name … or known there was more than one.
It was one of my favorite shows … they had two Darrin Stephens’ (Samantha’s husband) as well LOL
As a kid, I always viewed the second Darrin with suspicion. He seemed like an intruder or an imposter who had taken over the real Darrin’s body without anyone apparently noticing — maybe an evil bit of witchcraft by his mother-in-law, Endora.
I always thought Sam put a spell on him to make him more likable. Just silly kid thoughts … because I always thought the first Darrin was kind of mean and the second Darrin was nicer.
Even today, I’m still a little bit in love with Elizabeth Montgomery.
Darren number two was the devil’s spawn.
Having grown up with my mother’s soap operas every afternoon, seeing one actor replaced with another was commonplace and probably didn’t even register much other than, “oh, this is him now.”
*** I wonder if Eugene (John de Lancie) ever came up from the basement. Last I remember his wife Calliope would open the door and throw food down the stairs for him.- Days of our Lives.***
Ahh the “Soaps”
I never watched Days. My mother’s go to shows were:
The Edge of Night
Search For Tomorrow
Young and the Restless
As the World Turns
and ending the day with - General Hospital
**also Dark Shadows for the short time it aired.
My sister still loves Young and the Restless. I haven’t watched any daytime soaps since the late 80’s. I was always working and never bothered to record anything. They just were never that important to me I guess.
My wife and I enjoy watching home makeover shows. I was watching one last night. The California owners had engaged the help of a very pricey (but extremely good) home remodeler. Halfway through the owners came by (when the remodeler wasn’t there) and insisted that one of the working contractors totally break down the modern contemporary fireplace he was working on and install a totally different (old fashioned) design that the remodeler had not planned. Chaos ensued.
When I was a Creative Professional this happened several times to me. And I always had a saying; “Why would you invest in a dog and want to bark yourself”?
