Well, if we are on a Willie Nelson streak, I’d like to include this cover Willie and his son did of Pearl Jam’s “Just Breathe” (which the original is a really, really good song as well.)
This has been on my playlist the last few months. Willie Nelson and Karen O covering Under Pressure.
My wife and I went to see Robyn Hitchcock last night and got to meet him briefly after the show. It was a fantastic show. Since I had nothing else appropriate, I asked him to sign my hat.
I’m someone who can’t bear to listen to other singers perform any Queen songs after losing Freddie. But I love Benson Boone so I gave it a listen and oh my goodness! He did a fabulous job. We all know no one can replace Freddie. But what a beautiful rendition regardless. His honoring of Brian May was equally as wonderful.
Oof, I missed that one. That’s from the youtube live stream of Coachella last Friday. I must have been watching one of the other stages.
He performs again this Friday for weekend 2, at 7:05 PST. That will be streamed too, but sometimes on the second weekend the guests don’t come back. Brian May was in fine form! 77 years old.
I’ll have to check it out … and yes … Brian is still just as amazing!
Any Metalhead here?
They are pretty good I like their music
I have no problem admitting that the song Murray Gold slipped into “The Interstellar Song Contest” episode of Doctor Who as a JOKE to poke fun at the more unusual Eurovision songs… is catchy as all hell.
I am questioning everything in my like right now. After being a fan of The Clash for 40+ years, I just found out my favorite song of theirs is a cover. What else don’t I know?
You know Police and Thieves is also a cover?
So is Brand New Cadillac, and there are more.
In 2014, BBC Music created a cover version of Brian Wilson’s song, God Only Knows, featuring a wide range of artists and Brian himself. I have no idea who the younger singers are … but it’s still good and lots of older musicians I know like Brian May, Stevie Wonder and Elton.
