Who likes music?!

I love Annie Lennox but it’s always going to be The Clash for me.

I’m also in the “new music? It’s awful!” phase. Tired of all the whiney songs on the radio full stop. I grew up on things like Eminem, Dr Dre, Foo Fighters and The Offspring. So yes, I was in my teens in the early 2000’s!

This is going to seem totally random, but last year I discovered these two old men who took up rap music. Apparently they’ve been pretty naughty lads in their day, and they discovered a love of the music through their grandkids (who also keep them right with current slang, lol)

I present for your confusion: Pete & Bas.

My thoughts exactly. The Annie Lennox version is great, but The Clash is The Clash.

I’ve been listening to Zinadelphia NONSTOP
She has a kinda raspy voice that scratches my brain just the right way :joy:
Unfortunately, she has like 8 songs released, but it’s really good. In case someone takes my suggestion, my favorites are “Love Language” and “Mirrorball”

I just finished watching Hazbin Hotel (an animated series definitely not for the kiddos) And this song is so stuck in my head that I start humming it the minute I wake up!

Anyone have a cure for an earworm?

The only cure for an ear worm is another ear worm. This is the way.

Do you have a loop song (or songs)? You know, the song that you think is just so good, too short or really speaks to you that you can listen to on repeat. Post them below.

Here’s mine.

Generally anything by Eminem is gonna get me pumped. Been following his career since the late 90’s and while I’m often musically oblivious (I’ll hear several tracks I like before realising the’re all the same artist) I’m shit hot on whatever Em puts out most of the time. When he got big I was in my mid-late teens, perfect audience, and some of his tracks connected with me at the time. So yeah, when he was nothing, when he was huge, when he was forgotten, when he came back, when people put him down, when all the rap legends finally acknowledged him, and now he’s putting new stuff out again… I don’t always think it’s perfect, but I love that Marshall Mathers is making music way past the point I think even he thought he would, and now he’s sober he seems to have unlocked something and is absolutely levelling up his liricism and complexity way past what some might have once called his “prime” and that’s a lesson we can all benefit from. Doesn’t matter your age, experience, success or whatever. Grind, work, learn, improve. Create awesome stuff.

Funny, I know their names, but I think that’s the first song I’ve ever heard from either one of them.

I love them both

Occasionally something comes along that stops you in your tracks. I had no idea that this cover version existed. I have a feeling that this is going to be significant in my life.

It brought this to mind. Technically, this is not a cover since Willie Nelson wrote it, but it is most well known as performed by Patsy Cline.
