I have CW McCalls greatest hits. A guilty pleasure for sure. I know that Convoy is his “big hit”, so I tried to avoid posting it. Ha!
LOL! Same reason I didn’t post it … but I had to mention it. Even now it’s still fun to sing … especially if you have someone with you to sing along with
I will say it’s about the only song I know of that manages to use the word chartreuse
and my favorite part:
Well, we laid a strip for the Jersey shore
And prepared to cross the line
I could see the bridge was lined with bears
But I didn’t have a dog-gone dime.
I says, "Pig Pen, this here’s the Rubber Duck.
“We just ain’t a-gonna pay no toll.”
So we crashed the gate doing ninety-eight
I says “Let them truckers roll, 10-4.”
It is fun to sing to.
Kitty, I must have had “Convoy” in the back of my mind this weekend. The kids had a line of toy vehicles all down the hallway loaded to the gills with little people and animal figurines. I said “It looks like you have quite a convoy going on there.”
"What’s a convoy?
So I explained and told them about truckers and CB radios, etc. “There’s even a famous song about it!”
I don’t think they were impressed by the talents of Mr. McCall.
lmaoooo that is too funny heheh … it’s definitely an acquired taste
Comedy-funk anyone?
Well, I have never heard of Jennifer Nettles before, but I am an instant fan. Boy of boy, can she belt it out. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that this is my favorite Christmas song. I gotta look up more of her stuff.
Oh go on then…
All greats but Carl Perkins kills this one for me. Jerry Lee singing about being righteous… ahahaha ahem
and… nope got nothing to top that lol
How about a little Rascal Flatts cover…
A couple of MM acoustic tracks…
Marilyn Manson - Leave a Scar
Marilyn Manson - Third Day Of A Seven Day Binge
One of the purest voices I’ve heard. I loved her. She left us far too soon.
Merry Christmas Darling
and few more favs
Solitaire
Superstar
Bless the Beasts and the Children
Aren’t a whole lot af songs that makes me want to get my Carleton on but this one kinda does.
Picks jaw up off of the floor . . .
TRIPTYKON - Aurorae
Great song and great design-centric video.
Its about time we had some classic (early) Roxy Music on here. 1974 FFS. No one else ever made music like this.
While we’re at it …
Sounds as good today as it did back in the day . . .
A tune that stuck out from our road trip. I just love it
