How's your weather?

Not in the path here, a little more than 85% coverage. Still enough to go dig up the glasses from 2017 for a brief viewing between 140-2pm this afternoon. Clear skies here.

This will be the first time I’ve been in full totality, so I’m looking forward to it. Where I am in Dallas I should get about 2 1/2 minutes worth.

95-98% totality here. But there is only a 10% chance the skies will be clear enough to see the eclipse

Toronto is not in the path of totality. I’ll buy a postcard instead.

We were in the path of totality for the 2017 eclipse. Not going to lie, it was a trippy event. If you’re in the path and have the protective glasses, get out and enjoy it. This year, we will experience 99% coverage.

Not going to see it this time (UK) but this awesome image popped up (it’s from August 1999) which shows what an eclipse looks like from above.

I’ve traveled to the center line of two total solar eclipses and two annular eclipses. I feel bad about skipping this one, but the iffy springtime weather was just too uncertain to make advance plane and hotel reservations. I feel especially bad about missing it since the next total solar eclipse in the lower 48 US states won’t take place until 2045.

That is pretty cool @StudioMonkey

We are in the 98% path. It’s nice and sunny and I have my glasses handy

Complete totality about 2 hours north. This is our main highway into Lake Placid right now  Last time it looked like this was for the Olympics.

I’ve seen everyone sharing this too. Pretty cool

Holy cow, that’s some terrible kerning on the word “Wounded” – or maybe it’s a typo and there is an extra space in there – or maybe the headline is supposed to read “Mom of 2 W ounded In Elyria.”

You may now return to the previous conversation.

Here is a pic I took about 30 minutes ago during totality. Not great, but not bad considering it is from a Canon Powershot SX40 HS which is about 12 years old. The best thing about the camera is it has a 35x optical zoom. So, I improvised and held one of the panes from the solar eclipse glasses up to the lens and voila, this slightly blurry result with a tinge of red peeking around the moon.

All in all though it was pretty amazing. First time being in totality. We had a few clouds on and off, but it cleared up when it counted!

Here are a couple of my shots. Did the best I could. I wasn’t sure I would get anything at all LOL  My ancient little digital did pretty good all things considered.

Near totality.

Then it started to get dark. All the street lights came on and the clouds rolled in. It got really hard to get a good shot after that. But that was ok. We saw the best part. We didn’t get the Corona here. That’s ok too. It was so much fun just to be part of it all :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

"…I wish you wouldn’t keep appearing and vanishing so suddenly: you make one quite giddy.”

“All right,” said the Cat; and this time it vanished quite slowly, beginning with the end of the tail, and ending with the grin, which remained some time after the rest of it had gone."

Great job.
