What'cha Watchin'? (Possible Spoilers)

For all of you who don’t … well maybe you do know … I don’t know that you know … prolly you do, but just in case you don’t know … this guy’s YT channel (The Coding Train) is sawesome (super+awesome) Daniel Shiffman

I’m just catching up to ML (Machine Learning) and as a foundation I thought I’d look into TensorFlow.js

I’m not watching it now, but you can bet I’ll be watching it on October 11.

Yesterday, I watched a couple of episodes of the Netflix series, Better than Us. It takes place in a future version of Moscow where human-like androids are nearly as common as humans. It appears to have been shot in Russian and dubbed into English, but is seamlessly done. It’s not the kind of thing I typically associate with Russian video. I’m a sucker for science fiction.

Kominsky method is good, I burnt through that bad boy in a weekend.

I thought Peaky Blinders was decent, but felt it got a bit samey after a while. Just the same stuff happening, different people/setting etc. So yeah, binned it in the end.

Most recent series I saw through was Justified. Pretty decent, the best thing about it is the badguy played by Walter Goggins. Brilliant performance from him throughout and he outshone the star for me easy.

Another good series I watched before that was Goliath, with Billy Bob Thornton. Great show.

Mrs. Steve O: Do you have to work tonight?

Steve O: Yes.

Mrs. Steve O: They just dropped season 8 of Shameless.

Steve O: &$^&*@!

I didn’t even know there was a film :scream: I’m a big The Handmaid’s Tale fan tho.

Netflix has it as a DVD rental … just make sure you are selecting the 1990 version if you want to check it out

Not watching, this time but listening. I download Podcasts to listen to on my walk to work. This one caught my ear and I thought I’d share.

That sounds interesting

My boyfriend introduced me to a lot of great shows like Lost, Heroes and The Office. Before that Sherlock was my favorite show. I’m a really big The Office fan now and we’re rewatching it. I’d like to watch Dexter but it’s too gory for me. As for films I looooved The Sixth Sense although it really scared me. Most recent films I’ve watched is the Shyamalan trilogy Unbreakable, Split and Glass. James McAvoy is really awesome in those. I’d recommend them. Still trying to gain the strength to watch IT2, but I haven’t really seen the first one, it really looks good though. I’m in this weird transcendence from not wanting to get involved with creepy things to loving crime and thriller. I’ve developed a love for the Twilight Zone and other old dark themed shows aswell.
I’ve been experiencing fear incredibly all my life, perhaps now my brain is starting to feel attracted to it because it’s like a comfortzone? The if you can’t get rid of it, best to embrace it kind of thing. Starting to become a part of me. Same reason why IT seems like a great film to me. This would be a big step goodbye wonderful sleep :weary:

No movie haunts me anymore. I know my limits and what I can handle and what I can’t. I don’t do the modern Horror movies unless I know what’s what. I can’t do the massive amount of gore they all seem to go for now days. I’ve never seen a “Saw” movie and have no intentions of it. I made the mistake of watching Hostel and that was the end of that little franchise lol  That being said I loved Dexter and have watched the series a few times. I love anything King related. I saw and read the original IT. I haven’t seen the new versions yet. They are on the list

As I say I can’t do gore. But, much like art vs porn, I guess it’s in the eye of the beholder. I’ll know it when I see it.

The only movie that haunted my dreams for years was Hush, Hush Sweet Charlotte with Bette Davis. I was about 6 when I watched it. I’m not sure of all the details anymore, but I was in my Mom’s room and she was watching it. I think she thought I was asleep or something. I would wake up seeing a head roll down the stairs night after night. I recently forced myself to watch it again and well … we have come so far with effects and graphics that it was quite ridiculous looking. But, it was terrifying to a 6 year old lol  There is only one other movie I refuse to ever watch again and that is the Exorcist. It’s just too much. I’m not a religious person but, if Satan exists … he is one badass and scares the shit out of me.

You can chop a fellow’s body clean in half on screen and I won’t bat an eye. It’s real blood that gets me every time. When the nurse took my blood sample I had to turn my head away.

That’s really interesting … because in real blood situations don’t bother me at all. (Not that I’ve seen bodies ripped apart - I don’t think my brain could process that in real life)

You know, I have exactly the same. For some reason my own blood and when I see it in real life I can take it or it must be gushing out of someone. I can’t stand it when they poke a needle in my arm though, I watched it and almost fell off the chair last time  I suppose we’re contradictive people.

Oh and I wouldn’t dare watching the Exorcist, no haunted houses or possessed people for me thank you. Satanic rituals are just very evil, it’s only natural to reject something to do with that. I once spent a night in a hotel somewhere in Austria, there was definately creepy stuff going on. I couldn’t sleep, like someone was watching me. My dad switched beds with me and couldn’t get any sleep either that night. Things and places can have some very dark and bad energy…

I recommend a movie from Japan entitled Shoplifters (Manbiki kazoku) that should have received the international oscar last year, The movie has that slow-japanese movie editing style and an original plot and great acting and story line.

Ha! The 1 time I had lots of external blood loss (mirror crashed on me), I nearly passed out from having a panic attack from all the blood coming out of me lol.
