Who likes music?!

A classic I’ve recently reconnected with :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Rose of Cimarron :rose: Poco

Roll along, roll on
Rose of Cimarron
Dusty days are gone
Rose of Cimarron

Shadows touch the sand and
Look to see who’s standin’
Waitin’ at your window
Watchin’, will they ever show?
Can you hear them callin’?
You know they have fallen
On campfires cold and dark
That never see a spark burn bright

Roll along, roll on
Rose of Cimarron
Dusty days are gone
Rose of Cimarron

Trails that brought them home
Echo names they’ve known
Four days high and lonely
Comin’ to you only
You’re the one they turned to
The only one they knew who’d do
All her best to be around
When the chips were down

Roll along, roll on
Rose of Cimarron
Dusty days are gone
Rose of Cimarron

Shadows touch the sand and
Look to see who’s standin’
Waitin’ at your window
Watchin’, will they ever show?

Roll along, roll on
Rose of Cimarron
Dusty days are gone
Rose of Cimarron

Roll along, roll on
Rose of Cimarron
Dusty days are gone
Rose of Cimarron

Hearts like yours belong
Following the dawn
Wrapped up in a song
Rose of Cimarron

I have been a big Elvis Costello fan for more years than I care to admit, but I’ve never had the opportunity to see him live. Well, I finally get to see him in concert in a few short months, and I am super excited.

He played Glastonbury in the 80s, just after he broke up The Attractions and went solo. We were gutted but interested to hear his new stuff. He played 2 hours on his own, which was really great, then said “I’ve invited some friends to help finish the show”. The curtain behind him parted and there were The Attractions ! They played another 2 hours with all the songs we knew. Minds were blown.

I heard this playing in the background of some store I was at recently and instantly had to google the lyrics to find out who sang it.

I like cover versions, but I LOVE this one … and when the band comes in at 4:17 it changes again :star_struck:

Take your time …

When I first heard this I had no picture and thought there were at least two guitarists from the sixth minute onwards.

Since it’s freaky guitar day, I’ll proffer this cover of Kashmir.

One guy, one guitar. Unfortunately no video but this is from 1965. Song by Davy Graham, preformed by Bert Jansch.
