Our first red leaf It took a while to get too! Every time I tried, the wind blew a little obscuring it the one lone little leaf lol
It seems funny to have just one leaf so red. Around here, all of the leaves turn at the same time and are much more gradual. Then we have one afternoon of “peak color.” And if you miss that you’re screwed, 'cause the next day it’s time to bust out the rake.
That’s a very red leaf. A show off, I think.
Lots of the leaves here have already begun turning. It’s earlier than usual and I suspect it has as much to do with drought as it does with autumn — it hasn’t rained here since early June.
I may have amped that up a tad lol It sticks out like a sore thumb when you see it with the naked eye. That’s how I spotted it this morning. Yet, no matter what I tried, I could not get much of anything that didn’t blend with the brick background. So I had to give her some rouge on those cheeks lol
This tree always does this. In a few days it will look like an apple tree from a distance Then Whammo … all red.
… and one week later …
I took this yesterday. All it takes is a few days of rain and some wind here and there and the ground is covered with ruby goodness
… and then today … our first kiss of the white stuff
That’s a beauty!
Great scenery! Looks like a great place to wander with the Pup
Looks like one of those British B roads. LOL. I particularly like driving those around Cornwall with “Cornish hedges” (high stone walls covered in vegetation-if they haven’t been flailed within an inch of their lives) on both sides within inches of the pavement
Just the canal that runs through our village. It’s right on the train line too. On our morning walks, the train goes by same time every morning.
And he loves to race the train.
This morning the driver gave him a few honks of the horn as he raced beside him (don’t worry, the canal divides the path from the tracks!)
Nice!
Tis - the canal connects the towns, so you can use the canal path and cycleways/pathways to go from town to town.
I tend to cycle them and you can travel for 100s of miles on a peaceful canal. That or the kayak.
Beautiful … what a great tree!!
